End: Mile 20 (Lake Morena Campground)
Got a ride from Lawrence the Spring Guy in his RV that was falling apart as we drove but still managed to get us to the trailhead. We took photos, signed the register and headed north. Started hiking around 7 am. All the water sources were running, at 2.5 4 6.5 and 16 miles. I carried 6 liters, drank almost all of it and didn’t have to use any of the sources. I could have carried only 2 litres. The climb from Hauser Creek was steep and hot in the afternoon sun. I was greeted with applause, chilli and beer from the Casa de Luna campsite.
