It is cold when I wake up. When I spill some water at breakfast, it turns to ice. I hike through some of the most spectacular scenery so far. Surrounded by more than 13000 foot high mountains, the forrest is idyllic. There are little streams everywhere. The climb over Kearsarge pass takes me along a series of beautiful lakes. Getting a ride from Onion Valley campground is easy: just wait for someone who drops off hikers. We are just in time to catch the bus to Bishop.
